Profile

Javier has developed his career in renowned international firms and as in-house counsel for multinational companies in England, Belgium and Spain.

He provides high-level legal advice applying a practical vision of the operation of law in multiple jurisdictions. In the last decade he has specialized in the negotiation of outsourcing contracts with a strong component of intellectual property and information technology. He has also developed a deep knowledge of international data protection law and has implemented sophisticated risk mitigation schemes to achieve corporate compliance.

He advises as a commercial lawyer to both start-ups and large companies when they go through the cycles of acquisition, growth or transformation. He also helps foreign individuals and families to plan their investments in Europe.

In addition, he has extensive experience in resolving complex issues arising from the application of international sanctions. In this context he has successfully negotiated with national regulators (e.g., the Spanish CNMV and the English FSA and OFSI) or other supervisory bodies.

Javier won the 1999 Legal Business award for the Best Litigation Team of the Year for the submission on the Grupo Torras case (member of the Baker McKenzie award-winning team).
